Sanctification. (Part Five)

What to do?

Most sanctification is a real problem, see a repeat failure. We believe we have won on one point and now we rechutons. So we're unhappy and we look for the true solution.

There are actually two errors we can commit.

The first is that we try to sanctify ourselves by our own forces.

The second is that we believe God will do things alone.

But we must combination of both God and us.

the side of God, there is no problem, it has the power and the will to sanctify us. It is rather for us that things are not developed. There are rules in this area as in others, and if we do not respect us fail.

First we must not confuse sanctification and perfection. Sanctification is a progression towards perfection, writes the apostle Paul.

"Not that I've already won, or I already reached perfection, but I'm running, trying to grasp it, because I too was struck by Jesus Christ. " Philippians 3:12

This being established, we will see now what it takes to progress toward perfection, that is our sanctification.

Select and decide.

We understand by the Word of God that is holy is a personal decision that comes as a choice. God already told his people Israel, a word that concerns us all:

"I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Choose life so that you may live. "Deuteronomy 30:19

Sanctification is first make a choice and make a decision. We can not serve two masters.

"No servant can serve two masters. For either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will hold to the one and despise the other. You can not serve God and mammon. "Luke 16:13

The choice is a matter of affection, we choose what we like preference. But we can not simultaneously love God and the world, the things of the flesh and those of the mind.

"For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh, while those who live by the Spirit the things of the spirit. And affection of the flesh is death, while the condition of the mind, that's life and peace because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it do not submit to God's law, and it indeed can be. But those who live in the flesh can not please God. "Romans 8:5-8

We know that, but we often do not take a firm decision, we dither. It is written in the prophet Isaiah:

"He who is firm in his feelings You will keep the peace, peace, Because he trusts in you." Isaiah 26 : 3

The Lord has often criticized Israel's infidelity.

"Their heart was not steadfast toward him, and they were not faithful to his covenant." Psalms 78:37

The Apostle writes Jacques harsh a word to the disciples of Christ

"adultery you are! do not you know that the love of the world is enmity against God? Whoever therefore wants to be friend of the world is the enemy of God. "Jacques 4:4
