Sanctification. (Part Six)

Strive

course sanctification is not easy. It's a narrow way. Those who say otherwise do not know the reality of the saying of Jesus:

"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and there are few who find it. "Matthew 7.13,14

" Make effort to enter through the narrow gate. Yes, I tell you, many people try to enter and they will not. "Luke 13:24 (Word Version life)

We often find this exhortation to make efforts and especially this passage very explicit the Epistle of the Apostle Peter. In reading it carefully you will understand perfectly.

"For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith, good conduct and good behavior the true knowledge of God, add to knowledge control self, self-control perseverance and persistence of attachment to God, finally, to godliness add brotherly kindness and brotherly affection love.
If you have these qualities and if you develop them, they will make you active and you will gain knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he who does not have a so short-sighted as it is blind and he forgets that he has been cleansed of his sins of the past. Therefore, brothers, try to take you more seriously the call that God sent you and the choices he made you, for in doing this you never falls into evil. Thus you will be widely granted the right to enter the kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. "2 Peter 1.5-11

We must overcome our apathy, or our laziness or our spiritual indolence, and make efforts to practice what works for us holy.

Read the Scriptures

We are privileged to have at least one Bible, sometimes multiple versions, we can read and meditate. It inspired written Word of God, the incorruptible seed, the living and enduring word of God, who regenerates, strengthens, Grow and sanctifies. 1 Peter 1. 23 ...

If we do not read or just the Word of God, we suffer from spiritual anorexia, nudes are like blind people walking around without knowing where they go if no one guide.
God said to Joshua, a word about us too:

"Whether it Book of the Law depart from your mouth, meditate on it day and night, be careful to do everything that is written for then you will have success in your business, that's when you will succeed. "Joshua 1:8

Jesus said to those Jews which believed on him

" If you live in my word, you are truly my disciples and you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. "John 8.31
When we read or listen to the Word of God regularly acts in us to have our heart to seek holiness, she gives us strength and strengthens us and without faith in our decisions.

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly ..." Colossians 3:16

Praying

"Jesus said:" Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing but the flesh is weak. "Matthew 26:41

When we read" looking for the sanctification that means that there is an approach to look where she is with God. He is holy and that is him comes true holiness.

Prayer brings us closer to God leads us into his spiritual presence and where we spent time with him we feel the effects a change in attitude and behavior against sin. We draw strength from Him and a new resolution.

"Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Clean your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, ye double minded. "Jacques 4:8

Living in communion

When we became Children of God, we have entered a new relationship with Him and with the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

This relationship is called "koinonia" : a spiritual union with the Holy Spirit, with God our Father, with Jesus Christ our Lord.

"And our fellowship is with the Father and His Son Jesus Christ" 1 John 1:3, 2 Corinthians 13:13

is this communion which Jesus spoke in John 15, which is that we are now able to produce a new life, depending on the nature of Father and Son by the Spirit of God.

His divine power has given us everything that contributes to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us to glory and virtue, which we provide its share of the largest and most precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that exists in the world through lust,

Our effort will now remain attached to the divine vine, the Lord Jesus Christ, that by the Spirit that we communicate, a new fruit is produced in us and the nature of sin might be destroyed.

... to be continued ...
